Brief Background on the Institute:
Woochu Lower Secondary School, Luni Gewog, Paro Dzongkhag is located strategically at the foot of a mountain’ over-looking the Paro Airport. The School compound is spread over an area of approximately twenty- three acres.
WLSS was established in 1979 as a primary School with the aim of catering to the educational needs of a large number of children in the Luni and Wangchang gewogs and was upgraded into a Lower Secondary School in 2000.
Mr. Chencho Namgyel, the present principal took charge in 1999. The School has been making rapid strides during the last 34 years. Infrastructure development and improvement in academic facilities have been quite impressive. The School’s achievements in Sports, Games and other Co- curricular activities have also been quite impressive. The enrolment of the students had steadily increased over the years. The present enrolment of the School is 856 with 27 sections. At present the School has 40 members of teaching staff and 08 members of Non- teaching staff.
