The 23rd Scouts Leadership Training program concluded successfully with a grand closing ceremony graced by Her Excellency the Sherig Lyonpo Yeezang De Thapa, in the presence of Dzongkhag officials, School Principals, parents, and other distinguished guests.
Over the past 21 days, 150 scouts from 20 Dzongkhags and four Thromdes came together to participate in a transformative leadership programme that nurtured character, strengthened resilience, and inspired a lifelong commitment to service. The camp provided a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where young people learned not only practical skills but also the values that define responsible citizens.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in leadership development, team-building exercises, outdoor adventures, jungle survival, first aid and CPR, navigation, community service, and other essential outdoor and civic skills. These experiences cultivated discipline, responsibility, self-reliance, teamwork, courage, resilience, and compassion, qualities that are essential for future leaders and fully aligned with the aspirations of the Gyalsung programme and the spirit of the Pela initiative.
The camp was firmly rooted in the Scout Promise and Scout Law, inspiring every participant to uphold integrity, honesty, respect, kindness, loyalty, and service above self. By embracing these timeless principles, the scouts strengthened their commitment to becoming responsible citizens who are always prepared to serve their communities and the nation.
