His Holiness the Je Khenpo presided over the Purjang Ceremony of the precious remains of the late His Eminence Former Dorji Lopen Ngawang Tenzin at Drangay Goenpa Monastery in Paro.
The late Lopen Rinpoche was an eminent spiritual master and a great virtuous teacher whose immeasurable kindness and profound contributions to the precious teachings of the Buddha, particularly to the preservation and flourishing of the glorious Drukpa tradition, remain beyond measure.
On the twenty-fifth day of the seventh lunar month, at approximately 11:00 a.m., on the auspicious day of the gathering of the แธฤkinฤซs, Lopen Rinpoche demonstrated the manner of dissolving his bodily form into the expanse of Dharmadhฤtu and peacefully passed into the ultimate expanse at Drangay Goenpa in Paro.
In accordance with the profound wishes of Lopen Rinpoche himself, all ceremonies associated with the conclusion of his final rites and the cremation of his precious remains were conducted exclusively at his principal seat, the sacred Drangay Gonepa in Paro.
On this poignant and solemn occasion, the Lop Lhengay of the Zhung Dratshang were in attendance, while numerous devoted disciples, students, and faithful devotees of the revered master gathered to offer heartfelt prayers and aspirations.
With unwavering faith and devotion, they fervently prayed for Lopen Rinpocheโs swift rebirth in a pure realm, where he may once again manifest as a supreme guide and leader of sentient beings. They also made profound prayers and offerings for the accumulation of the twofold merits and the purification of the twofold obscurations of all sentient beings.
Outwardly, the late Lopen Rinpoche was a great hidden yogin who remained beyond worldly recognition; inwardly, he was a highly accomplished master who devoted his entire life to the profound path of meditation and spiritual practice. His life was wholly dedicated to the profound practice of the Dharma, and he was revered as a supreme master of realization and spiritual accomplishment.
May the blessings of his profound realization continue to illuminate the path of all who follow the sacred Dharma, and may his enlightened aspirations swiftly come to fruition for the benefit of all sentient beings
