The Dzongkhag Administration conducted a one-day induction program for six newly appointed Teachers to familiarize them with the Civil Service system, workplace expectations, and their professional responsibilities. The participants comprised of:
– Business and Entrepreneurship Teacher – 1
– Chemistry Teacher – 1
– Biology Teachers – 2
– Accountancy Teachers – 2
The induction program covered the following key areas:
– Overview of Civil Service Reforms
– Civil Service Code of Conduct and Administrative Discipline
– Job Responsibilities and Accountability Framework
– Performance Management System (PMS)
– Civil Service Entitlements and Benefits
– Advocacy on the Go-To-Person mechanism for Sexual Harassment, Driglam Namzha, and Public Service Delivery Standards, delivered by the Sr. HR Officer
The program was graced by Dasho Dzongdag and the respective Sector Heads, who shared valuable guidance and insights with the newly appointed teachers.
In his keynote address, Dasho Dzongdag underscored the pivotal role of Teachers in shaping the future of the nation through quality education and by nurturing children to become responsible, competent, and compassionate citizens. He emphasized that teachers carry the noble responsibility of delivering effective educational services while inspiring young minds to excel.
Dasho further highlighted His Majesty’s visionary aspirations for nation-building through innovation, digital transformation, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to equip students with future-ready skills and contribute towards achieving the aspirations of the 13th Five-Year Plan (13FYP) and the Enlightened Entrepreneurial Bureaucracy (E2B). He also discussed the current challenges facing the education sector and encouraged the teachers to embrace professionalism, innovation, and collaboration in addressing these challenges and delivering quality education.
The induction program concluded with an interactive session, providing the newly appointed teachers an opportunity to seek clarifications and gain a better understanding of the Civil Service values, professional ethics, and their roles and responsibilities as public servants.
