9 September 2026, Dasho Dzongdag, accompanied by the Chief, DEO, and HRO, visited Wangsel Institute, Drukgyel CS, and Drukgyel LSS, where he met with teachers and staff.
During his interaction, Dasho emphasized the need to enhance the quality of education and prepare students to be work-ready, world-ready, and future-ready. He encouraged teachers and staff to embrace digital technology and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching and learning practices to enhance professional efficiency and improve the quality of education. He also cautioned that failure to adapt to rapidly evolving digital technologies could make individuals and institutions obsolete.
Dasho also highlighted the importance of instilling Bhutanese values, culture, and traditions in students and promoting discipline through appropriate and positive strategies. He further shared the key deliverables of the education sector and the targets outlined in the Annual Performance Agreement (APA), particularly improving the overall mean marks and increasing the percentage of students scoring above 70% in the board examinations.
The visit was engaging and meaningful, providing teachers and staff with clear direction on the need for every school to work towards delivering quality education in response to the changing needs of the time. Dasho reminded them of the importance of preparing students to become “Nationally Rooted and Globally Competent.”
