Public Notification (5.3.2022)

This is to inform the general public that yesterday on March 4, 2022, the Surveillance Team had conducted mass-testing in the red clusters. And based on the results received today, the DC19TF decided to lift the restrictions at Shomo, Kichu area, Geptey, and Gangtey red clusters. However, the public need to be cautious of the situation as there is sporadic cases still being detected from the community.

Since February 22, 2022, there has been 49 positive cases and 378 primary contacts in the Dzongkhag and today we had 5 new cases (3 from Doteng and 2 from Dobhar (Laptsathangkha) under Bondey Chiwog). The contact tracing for this community cases are ongoing.

In this regard, we would like to request the public not to stigmatize our fellow citizens who tested positive and need moral support. There have been instances of the people being stigmatized by individuals as well as in the community. It is a time to cooperate and support each other and not to criticize and demoralize others. It is also the responsibility and duty of every individual to support and fight against the pandemic, keeping the individual interest aside.

In general, the lockdown announcement of 22nd February 2022 will still be in effect.
