The Paro Dzongkhag Administration is currently conducting a Basic Entrepreneurship Course (BEC) from 19th May to 2nd June 2025, with technical support from the Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship (DoEE) and funding support from both the DoEE and the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC).

The course is designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills required to start and manage their own businesses, with a strong emphasis on practical learning and real-world application. The course emphasizes practical learning and real-world application, equipping participants with essential tools to confidently explore entrepreneurial opportunities and contribute to local economic development.

A total of 17 participants including youth, job seekers, and aspiring entrepreneurs—are taking part in this intensive training. They are being guided by two experienced facilitators, who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the program.

Through engaging sessions on business idea generation, planning, marketing, financial literacy, and customer service, the participants are being equipped with the tools to confidently explore and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

Given Paro’s unique potential in tourism, agriculture, and culture-based enterprises, the course is timely and strategic. It encourages participants to think creatively and design business models that are not only viable but also aligned with local strengths and sustainable practices.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment of all stakeholders to foster entrepreneurship as a pathway to economic growth, community development, and personal empowerment.
