The government in order to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the country had developed various systems and apps. The Health Facility System, qapp System and Stay Home mobile app were deployed earlier to capture correct data and to have real time information of the quarantined individuals.

Now, in order to help in contract tracing, the Cabinet Secretariat in continuation to the executive order received from the Office of the Prime Minister, has developed the Druk Trace Mobile App. The app is to be used for Contract Tracing by helping with the identification of people who may have come in direct contact with a COVID-19 infected person while visiting public places or while using public transportation. Therefore, to prevent local transmission of the virus in the country, every office, business entity, public transport (taxis and buses) are required to display a QR code generated from the Druk Trace App. In addition, every individual owning a smart phone (andriod based) are mandated to use the App while visiting such places. The IOS version will soon be in place.
